This Privacy Policy outlines how PagiQ ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, protects, and handles your personal information when you use our website, mobile application, and related PDF tools and cloud services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect & Storage Architecture

We believe in privacy-by-design. PagiQ collects minimal information necessary to deliver exceptional document processing:

• On-Device Local Database (SQLite): Your document history, folder structures, file metadata, and locally stored PDFs are saved strictly on your device inside an isolated, ACID-compliant SQLite local database. Files processed offline remain 100% on your device and are never sent to our servers.
• Account Credentials: If you sign in via Google or Email, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo URL to manage authentication state and sync settings across your devices. Guest users can access app features locally without registering.
• User Content: Files (PDFs, images) that you explicitly submit for online processing (e.g. AI document summarization, OCR, HTML to PDF conversion). Temporary processing files are stored in sandbox cache memory and cleaned up immediately after processing.
• Technical & Diagnostic Data: Anonymized app performance logs, crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics), and basic usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics) to ensure app stability and fix software errors.

2. Google Drive Integration & Google API User Data Policy Compliance

PagiQ offers an optional cloud backup and synchronization feature that connects directly to your personal Google Drive account. When you connect Google Drive or enable Auto-Backup:

• No Access to Personal Drive Files: PagiQ does not read, scan, view, modify, or delete any of your other personal Google Drive documents, Google Docs, photos, emails, or personal folders outside of the PagiQ Documents app folder.
• No Data Transfer, Resale, or Sharing: User data and document content obtained through Google APIs are used strictly to provide storage, backup, and document restoration requested by you. We do never sell, monetize, rent, disclose, or transfer Google API user data to third parties, ad networks, data brokers, or information resellers under any circumstances.
• No Artificial Intelligence Training: Your Google user data, document contents, signatures, and files stored on Google Drive are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve generalized AI, machine learning, or foundation models.
• Google API Limited Use Disclosure: PagiQ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process collected information strictly for legitimate operational purposes:

• To execute document features requested by you (scanning, editing, converting, watermarking, signing, and organizing PDFs).
• To synchronize your document catalog and Google Drive backups across your authorized devices.
• To provide core services and maintain security verification.
• To troubleshoot app crashes, diagnose runtime bugs, and optimize battery/memory consumption.

4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Processing

PagiQ incorporates AI features such as document summarization, page analysis, and OCR text extraction. When using these features:

• Files are sent over encrypted TLS 1.3 connections to secure processing endpoints.
• Your files are used solely to generate the specific result requested and are purged immediately after processing.
• We do not retain or utilize your document content for training external or third-party AI models.

5. Global Privacy Rights & Regulatory Compliance

PagiQ enforces strict privacy protections worldwide and complies with leading international data privacy frameworks:

European Union & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

EEA and UK residents possess statutory rights to access, rectify, port, or erase their personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

United States (CCPA / CPRA & State Laws)

California and US residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion of personal records, and opt-out of data sharing. PagiQ does not sell any user personal information.

China (PIPL)

Residents of the People's Republic of China are guaranteed full rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).

Rest of World

We extend fundamental data privacy protections (right of access, correction, export, and account deletion) to all users globally in accordance with local regulations (including LGPD in Brazil and APPI in Japan).

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. You can delete individual documents locally from your app at any time, or clear all history. If you wish to delete your account and associated Firebase sync metadata, you can do so directly in the app settings or via our Account Deletion Page.

7. Security Measures

We maintain industry-standard security safeguards, including end-to-end transport encryption (HTTPS / TLS 1.3), AES-256 local database isolation, and role-based access control. While no digital system is 100% impenetrable, we continuously monitor and upgrade our security controls.

8. Children's Privacy

PagiQ is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us for prompt removal.
